How do AI credits work?
Each workspace has one credit pool that refreshes monthly, and credit use scales with the size of the plan set. A small set (up to about 5 pages) is 1 credit for a residential estimate or 15 credits for a commercial one; larger sets use proportionally more — a 16–30 page set is 3× the base, so about 3 credits residential or 45 commercial. Commercial also runs a deeper multi-pass analysis. The mode-selection modal always shows the exact cost upfront before you commit a run.
Why does Solo not include commercial or multi-family estimates?
Solo is built for residential small contractors — 11 credits per month, starting at 1 credit per residential estimate. Commercial and multi-family estimates run a deeper multi-pass analysis starting at 15 credits, so they require Crew tier ($149/mo) or higher. Credit use scales with plan-set size: a typical mid-size commercial set (16–30 pages) uses about 45 credits, so Crew (45 credits) covers roughly one of those a month, several smaller commercial sets, or any mix with residential.
What if I don't use all my AI credits in a month?
Unused plan credits don't roll over, but any credit packs you purchase stick around indefinitely. Top-up rate: $3.50 per credit. Most contractors find their tier's allotment more than enough — we sized the pools around typical usage.
Do you really include QuickBooks sync?
Yes — 2-way sync on Crew and up. Import your existing QuickBooks customers, keep them in sync both directions (with a review step when they disagree), push invoices with sales tax handled, and have payments reconcile back automatically. Expense receipts post across too. This is the feature contractors ask about most.
What does Stripe Connect processing mean?
We connect your Stripe account to BuildCrux so your customers can pay you directly — by credit card or bank transfer (ACH). Card processing is 3.0% to 3.5% depending on your tier (same rate structure as Square or Toast); bank transfers (ACH) are just 1% with a $3 minimum and no cap — a fraction of card on larger invoices. The fee is deducted from each transaction, and you choose which methods to accept under Settings → Customer payment methods.
