How accurate is the estimate?
On benchmarked projects (an 80-page pharmaceutical TI in particular), our output landed inside the senior-estimator reference range — $686K against a $700K–$850K human band. Residential remodels typically come in within 5–10% of a contractor's manual estimate. We always recommend a human review before submitting a bid; this gets you 90% of the way in 1% of the time.
Do I need an account?
No. Just enter your email at checkout, upload your PDF, and the result lands in your inbox. We never auto-create an account or auto-charge you again.
How does pricing work?
Flat per-takeoff. Residential up to 30 pages is $29. Commercial up to 80 pages is $99. Large commercial 80–500 pages is $199. You see the price BEFORE you pay — there are no surprise overage charges.
What file formats do you accept?
PDF is preferred (multi-page, vector, or scanned). Individual sheets as JPG or PNG also work. Maximum 500 MB total per submission.
How long does it take?
Residential typically completes in 8–12 minutes. Commercial in 10–15 minutes. Large commercial in 12–20 minutes. You get an email the moment it lands.
Can I edit the estimate?
Yes. The result page lets you tweak quantities, unit prices, and line items in your browser. You can also download the editable PDF and re-export.
What if the AI gets something wrong?
Email support@buildcrux.com within 7 days with the project link and we'll either re-run for free or refund the takeoff. We've shipped thousands of estimates and we stand behind every one.
How is this different from your $39/mo BuildCrux subscription?
Same AI engine. The subscription gets you unlimited takeoffs plus the full contractor management platform (projects, invoicing, customer portal, scheduling, change orders, mileage, expenses, QuickBooks sync). If you do more than 2 takeoffs a month or want any of the rest, the subscription pays for itself.
Do you keep my drawings?
Plans are stored on private encrypted cloud storage. They are deleted automatically after 30 days. We never share or train on your drawings.
